Letters from Private Colleges

It does not matter what type of school the university is. Whether Public or Private, the University only gets a maximum of 11.7 scholarships. Now some don't fully fund baseball and only give a fraction of that.

I cannot think of anything in particular it would be related too...maybe his HS?

Our son went to a public HS and I saw no correlation on this issue at all.

Did he attend any particular event that may have more likely attracted that type of school?

Don't know if this is a trend but if not, surprised that it isn't...

Even with baseball $, all things being equal (academic $, need $...)private colleges are significantly more expensive in the end for a family.

While they are many more factors...When $ challenged parents look at the cost of a state vs. a private, even after partial baseball money, the states can appear to be a huge bargain. I would think that as a result the privates will have to work harder to attract the same recruits.

Just my opinion...

observer...good point. Seemed like the hardest workers were the privates and out-of-state schools. But then again, for the reasons you stated, they had to be.
