I saw that MLB segment too. It was very refreshing and interesting to listen to a comedian discussing his craft relative to one of the masters (Abbott & Costello). Apparently Seinfeld was a huge A&C fan, and borrowed some of their practices in his show. They really do have a lot in common.

You're all going to laugh at me, but I took a class in "Humor" my senior year in high school. Yes, it was an elective at my high school.Wink It actually ended up being very difficult. We had to watch movies (silent & talkies) and compare and contrast different comedians styles and their historical context. Incredibly interesting but it was far more writing than I had bargained for. I had flashbacks to this high school class, and my teacher who was one of the best teachers I ever had.

Years and years ago I remember hearing of that class fenwaysouth. You went to Hilarity High...in Happy Hills, MA? I know you were told to never tell, but I know for a fact that you had more than one teacher for that class. A team taught that class...

Everyday when they would enter the classroom...
    "Who's in the first row?"

"No, who's in the second row. What's in the first row."

Well...you know the rest!
