Richardson vs Frisco

Has anyone besides the private schools played real games yet? We have one more scrimmage on Tuesday. First "real game" is opening day of our tournament on Thursday.

Tuesday Martin has an alumni game and from what I hear Ben Grieve will be playing for the alumni. I think the varsity players are excited about playing against Ben. Now if the alumni could get Todd Van Poppel to come pitch for them.

That should be fun to watch

My son's school (San Antonio Reagan) has played 5 scrimmages thus far and has its district opener vs. Churchill HS this Tuesday.

East will travel to Denton for their final scrimmage on Monday.

North @ Creekview 6pm (last scrimmage)

Things start for real on Thursday against Allen in our tournament.

Bring it.......has Boyd allowed any runs yet with their great pitching staff?

Thursday is when things start for us in the McKinney ISD Tournament if the weather cooperates.

Plano opens at home 7PM Tues vs. Naaman Forest

JV Maroon also plays NF Tues @ 4:30.

JV White vs. McKinney North @ Plano 7PM Monday.

Tycho, I am not sure as I am only going off the schedule he gave us and it lists the game on Tuesday 2/19 versus Northwest as a scrimmage. Let me check with Badman's Son and he can ask the Coach. I will let you know what he says on my end. I don't think it really matters as we have been playing every scrimmage like they count trying to get ready for the season and since this does not count in the District Standings I say let them play. Win or Lose!

Well, you guys should be able to tell by looking at your schedules -- a team may play 17 games and 3 tournaments. They can replace a tournament with 2 non-district games.

Maybe it counts for one and is a scrimmage for the other!?

It appears that both teams have a non-district game "in-hand" -- so, I suppose it's up to the coaches, eh? I don't know if there is a limit to the number of scrimmages a team can have each year....I don't think so as long as they are limited to one per school week.

Well, I'm right about the number of games (I double-checked the UIL site), but coaches can add games during the season if they have not scheduled to the limit. If this is a scrimmage (listed as one on the Centennial site), then both coaches can add a non-district game if they have an open Saturday and find another team to play. You guys could have a rematch! Last year, East only played 2 non-district games --- 3 are scheduled this year.

It was last night. They played two 7 inning games or 1 - 14 inning game. Which ever way you want to call it, with Rowlett winning both. Both games ended 3-2. I thought pitching was good for both teams.

How did Rockwall fare?

My son plays for Forney and I would like for someone who saw the game to give me an outside opinion (other than my son's).

Did Woodruff throw for Forney?

I heard he threw 2 innings and gave up all the Rockwall runs. Also, heard he got hit in the knee with a sharp one-hop ground ball, but is fine.

If your son is who I think he is jackrabbitdad, he is a very talented player.

Is he hearing from anyone?

If you are correct in who you think he is, I appreciate the compliment. I don't think he has heard from anyone directly (or at least he hasn't told me). I did hear from my other son (a Forney freshman player) that there was a Baylor scout there last night and was running the gun on him and was taking copious notes, but don't know that for a fact.
