Just reciecved my first call for listing my son as a player. They are not asking for anything and they send the lists to colleges. Anybody familiar with this kind of thing? They have him listed as an up and comer.

Feels more like stalking to me. All he has done is nothing in HS.

Several groups have listed high profile players, but none have called and asked permission.

Obviously groups like Perfect Game, Baseball America, Student Sports (now ESPN), or the local papers have listed either ratings/rankings from tournaments, showcases, word of mouth, or cross referencing groups like Perfect Game/PGCrosschecker.

Another organization listed that my son attended their events three years after he went to one of their showcases after his college team won the CWS!

But they never called before.

I've seen this lately. They are like highschool baseball scouts. Not sure what they get out of listing the kids though. They don't charge anything and they will, in some cases, come to the games and video tape them. I've even seen one company posting the videos to youtube. Not sure why they do this. Are they truely trying to help or is there some kind of way they are making money from this? I actually used to have one advertise on my website, that's how I found out about it. The site was shut down in a few months but they still have videos up online. Are there any legit recruiting places where kids from hs baseball web are going to? Maybe they are agent refferal services or just making money from advertisers? Just be careful the route you choose to go when it comes to paying someone for this. There are many great resources you can use here on hsbaseballweb that can help you in the recruiting process. Why not take advantage of them instead.
