What's your best advice on a hitters perspective? What should you think and feel during or before hitting? Some say get a zone!! How is that done? You can't just put yourself in the zone. Your usually out of a zone before you realize you've been in the zone.  I think focus may start the zone. Not a fear to fail maybe part of the zone. Any thoughts? I know deep stuff. Anything to keep your mind off hitting. Lol.

I see kid's taking strikes and then swinging at bad pitches because they are down in the count. If pitchers are taught to get ahead in the count, I think hitter's should be swinging early in the count. When you wake up in the morning have your mind made up that you are gonna hit tonight, not maybe, but let swinging the bat be your plan.

The zone, it's a very personal thing.  You have to find YOUR way of getting focused and locked in.  I have always been a very visual type learner.  My way of getting locked in was to go through at bats visually in my mind, visualizing picking the ball up out of the pitchers hand and hitting/attacking the first pitch he threw in my hitting area.  I also picked the song of the day that got me pumped up and hummed that as I was locking in.  It helped drone all the outside distractions.  But again, very personal and very different for everyone, IMO

I was listening to the radio the other day and Mike Krukow was saying that MLB hitters are always in one of two states - they are either locked into the zone and struggling as hard as they can to stay that way, or they are not locked in and struggling as hard as they can to get there.
