What do you guys think about how local and state colleges are doing so far this year? whats going on with UIC? I havent been following as much as usual, but it seems like they are struggling to replace the pop in the lineup they lost last year

Bill....

UIC will be fine. Had their heads handed to them in their first 8 games but now they've won 5 in a row and tied the last one.

Play Chicago State for 4 over the weekend. UIC should score more than the Fighting Illini in basketball.

Key is their league tournament...only the champion will get an NCAA bid.

Check out their schedule for 2007....5 SEC teams including first 12 games of the season against SEC teams. WOW! Must be recruiting some heavy hitters and pitchers to compete with the "big boys".
Bill- I'm sure you've noticed by our posts- my son and rz1's son play for UIC . Both are extremely happy with the program and coaching staff. Yes, the team was a little shaky at the start, but are now starting to pull it together.Unknown to all, except to the players, is the strategy and mindset of Coach Dee. I will say that UIC has had some unforseen injuries, or player issues that have some players on the wayside. I have no doubts that in the next few games, UIC will show what they have. My kid has a little "POP", himself. applaude Congrats to rz1's son on a phenomenal game in Fla. Lot's more to come!
Caught the NIU/ UIC game the other night......battled the winter like weather

Actually a low scoring game, NIU left a small villiage on the basepaths......besides that great execution..theyd get a guy on, get em over....but not in...

heading down to a great CCIW Matchup today, IWU/Cartage... Our SS is carthages 3 hitter and is having a player of the year type year, and a former player is in the race for frehmen of the year for IWU

Hows about the fighting Illini leading the big ten?
im sure ill be out that way game

on a nice day, that is one of the nicest places to catch a game......when its bad though...its bad....after 7 innings and 10 hot coco's i was ready to go

I enjoy watching Mike Bruzer in the inf, i first saw him play for the cavs a few years back

NIU has been battling injuries but it was a good game.....jernstead looked good, trouble spotting at times...gillingham did a good job behind the dish

i plan on being back out there soon
