IVC defeated John A Logan College on Thursday DEFEATING THE VOLUNTEERS TWICE----so much for the theory of being down south to get an early start

It was the first time IVC had been outside and they beat the Volunteers in a double header at Rent One Park to make the Volunteers 6=6 on the year

Logan College bounced back to defeat South Suburban on Friday 11-5 and will host the northern iLLINOIS Jr College again for a 9 inning single contest on Saturday

Rent One Park in Marion, all artificial turf is getting good use in southern Illinois as the Salukis will host Northern Illinois University in a dh on Sat and a single contest Sunday at the new Frontier League Park....

guess that artificial turf comes in handy----and i know the "cash" flow is better for the Miners renting it out at $1500 per day and $500 per game.... "ouch"

i am sure it was their first time out this spring or winter...whatever it was----but if these two teams meet at the end of the year it is a completely different story....A real battle.. Warm weather expected down south today for the 11 am game and beautiful weather expected tomorrow for logans double header---expected in the 70 degree weather.....
then snow coming in or sleet next Tuesday...

i am very curious for IVC players and fans reaction plus South Suburbans reaction to the new stadium...
quite a break for Logan to have a new home site like that---Their field is EXCELLENT and they are not using it this spring...all of their games are at the new RENT ONE PARK..

woodly, you sure you're talking about Illinois Central College (ICC).

I know the players and the fans that made the trip from East Peoria were very impressed with the facility. Coach Schlemmer and I had been talking it up since seeing it last year when we were down there to play the Bullets.

Coach Halstead has a great tool in that ballpark.
