Flintoide, my son pitches for the Lombard Orioles, and he said both were great games with Lombard winning both games in the last inning.

Lombard has plenty of area college talent and is a great program for college kids that want to spend the summer at home and play ball. They're off the the World Series in Texas tomorrow.

Congrats to Jeff Vukovich and his team and good luck in Texas!
Congrats to the Orioles!

We split the season series with them this year and as everyone knows they are a very solid team.

We saw everything from d1 College pitchers to a 35+ year old ex pro who just knew how to pitch. They had a lot of arms and a lot of depth. The majority of guys on the team are local d1 players but they did have a few ex pro's on the team.

This is great news for the Orioles and for the entire CSBL. I believe people here the word semi-pro and they paint the wrong picture. Over our 20 year history we have played in 2 other leagues and the CSBL is by far the best league top to bottom and best structured.

It not only gives players a chance to come home, but it also gives them to play some really good baseball. I will always argue that 18-19 year old players are better off playing in this league then on a 17-18 or legion team. We had young kids facing players who played AA ball, we have hitters facing guys who not only had the stuff but could flat out pitch. Over the last 5 years we have seen so much more growth and development with our younger players playing with and against those type of players plus young talented college players

Congrats again to the Orioles and we look forward to next season!
Coach Bill,

Outstanding point!!! --- 18 or 19 year olds should be playing in this league (if they are good enough).

The CSBL has historically been one of the best leagues in the country. For an incoming D1 college freshman, the league would be a great opportunity to face guys that will be similar to what the player will see in college versus playing against a good 16U team playing up in a tournament.

Great point Coach!!
Thank you!

I just think is a great opportunity for college ball players to play with and against players with the experience I mentioned. 3 of our every day players are High School coaches so there is always a lot of teaching going on..

I think if the CICL stays at 4 teams you will see even more players come to the CSBL....It has to be hard to play 40+ games against 3 teams

We do have some spots to fill for next summer so as always I will be reaching out to the network!
