It's simply a numbers game and in india there are 1.5 Billion (India's population) reasons...

First numbers game?....Untapped market for tickets and merchandise...we show a well publicized interest in you...you like us...and most importantly since we do, you buy tickets and jerseys....we make $.

Second numbers game?...China is being picked over, India is an unscouted market...somewhere in all that completely unscouted humanity is likley a 6'6" left handed, 100MPH guy with ungodly hands that can be devloped.

For years the major Tennnis academies have been socuting/scouring the world...they handsomely pay full time scouts most everywhere on the planet ( Indonesia, Gabon, Siberia)...looking for the next genetic anomolie that will rock the sports world ....and more importantly make them hundreds of millions of dollars...

This is a situation of where the players came to the scouts, not scouts going to India looking for new talent.
The 90 guy may have a chance, unless the 84mph guy has a lot of future gas in his tank, remember pro ball has a lot to do with projection. MLB teams need pitchers, unfortunetly many times dominican and latin players do not excel in pitching. With many american born pitchers opting to go to college first to get bigger and stronger, teams need many arms in their milb systems.
These are the winners out of 30,000, who spent 6 months training with Tom House. 84 and 90. Their chances of playing major league baseball are just as good as playing in the British Open, assuming they have never touched a golf club either, slim and none and slim just left town. I don't think MLB will be relocating from Santa Domingo to Delhi.
