Lou Pinella Fired?

TR, I agree but it is kind of funny. I'll bet that guy bleeds Cubs and has lived a life of bad memories. At least he still has a sense of humor

No direspect for Lou, but I thought the obvious choice would have been Joe Garardi!

Both of these amaze me.

First Lou hasn't managed the first game and some people want him fired. Wow.

Second it's pretty amazing no one hired Girardi. I read somewhere that he was a jerk with the front office which helped him get the boot. Still should have been hired since he was manager of the year.

i think garardi could be the avery johnson of baseball. amazing no one hired him, but i dont think it'll take long for a team to hire him.

Mariners fan here. I remember a televised game with Jose Mesa on the mound. He couldn't get anyone out, was getting absolutely pounded, and Lou was so ticked off at him he obviously refused to take him out of the game, despite double after double..

..the camera panned..and there in the corner of the dugout was Lou Pinella, half-hiding, smoking a cigarette with a look of disgust on his face.

Jose beaned a few guys, got himself ejected, and the Mariners finished off the inning by pitching a position player. I miss Lou!
