If your son is being recruited by their coach, consider yourself one of the luckiest parents on the East coast. The HC is the classiest coach Ive ever had the pleasure of talking with.

Not to mention they play hard nose baseball and year in/year out are THE team to beat.

PM Coach May on here and he can give you WAY more info about the program.

Good luck
Great facilities for a JUCO, better than some D-1's out there. Well maintained lighted field and very nice clubhouse. They play a good schedule, their conference is one of the top JUCO D1 conferences in the nation. If you do well you will get noticed both by the Pros and D1 4 year schools.

Baseball players have their own dorm, and everyone gets a private room. Very nice setup. This helps if they have to catch a bus early in the morning, everyone goes to sleep at the same time, dorm is quiet. Team is very close, they tend to do everything together and have a great time doing it.

College is small, 600-625 students and 1/2 or more of the students are atheletes. Academics are not Harvard, but classes are small and they make a real effort to see that all students succeed. Another neat thing is that it's just like a 4 year college, only 2 years. This means they have a football team, one of the best Basketball teams in the nation and a full roster of girls sports. There are dorms, a dining hall, library, a Gym and an auditorium. You get a real college experience.

If you've seen the Andy Griffith Show you've seen Louisburg, it's a small eastern NC town, very safe as is the campus. No bars or anything because very few if any of the students are 21. Raleigh is about 20 minutes away and that's where they go to see a movie or whatever. Again because almost no students are 21 drugs and achohol are almost non existent on the campus, but they have 0 tolerance if it is found.

I know they have a new coaching staff but if everything holds true from the past it will be first class. They are in it to win it. There will be lots of opportunities to win a spot this year, almost every position will be wide open so it's a good year to go.

Hope this helps.
Louisburg is a private, Methodist school. So, the cost of tuition, room/board, etc. is much higher than your typical junior college. Of course part of the reason the cost is more is that it is the rare residential two-year school. Only JUCO in North Carolina where you can live on campus.

Historically, they have been one of the best JUCO baseball programs in the country. In recent years they haven't been quite at that level, but still very good. They still attract serious talent, though, and kids get drafted out of that program every year.
