Obviously you have no idea what it takes to get into Stanford. Please feel free to call me and I will let you know what type of player it takes to play at Stanford and what kind of student it takes to get accepted to that university.

Really? You commit to a program, give your word, so to speak, then cover it up with bull****. How about waiting, to screw the LSU Coach over? Late commit, instead of raising your banter, above your head.

If you understood the recruiting process at Stanford, then you would understand. They wont commit a kid real early like some schools do because it so hard to get into there. And I'm sure LSU just like every other school in the country has over signed and brushed some kids off. Is either of them right no...but that's college baseball now.

If my kid had a chance to go to Stanford...I'd rob a bank or do what I had to do to get him through school.
Why am I concerned? Maybe because this is a "Texas Forum" and there actually is baseball played outside of the I35 corridor and Houston. Obviously being good enough to play at Stanford and "academic" enough to go to school there...the kid must of worked his *ss off to get into this situation. Sorry, but getting a scholarship to Stanford is a pretty big deal and the kid deserves some recognition.

I'm sorry, but the chance to attend Stanford outweighs any commitment to LSU. An athlete has to do what is best for his future and I do not think you will find anyone out there that does not believe Stanford is a better school than LSU.

Congrats to this young man for getting into such a prestigious institution.

You just found one! Comparisons must go beyond entrance standards. It also must include comparisons of individual academic programs.

But congrats to him for having the opportunity to go either place.

For most schools, sure that's a fair comment. But not when you are comparing Stanford to LSU. Come on. There is no comparison there on any academic program that matters.

Congrats to Tyler.

What's your definition of a program that matters? As an example I would say LSU's Vet Medicine program is superior (heck even Texas A&M would be better than Stanford for Vet school).
To aba. I apologize. I thought you were posting his decommitment because you were trying to make a point on the board that the kid decommitted. If I am correct you are doing a positive shoutout to the kid because he is going to Stanford. Your intent was not to rag on the kid for decommiting but to compliment him for getting accepted at Standford. I am very happy for the kid, Stanford is a great school. I agree with Catcherz dad on this one.

Clemson....please tell me you're trolling.

Please tell me you're not serious! You appear to imply that no way a state school can compete with a high-priced private university. From an academic standpoint, universities separate themselves based on graduate programs and research dollars brought in by faculty.

Done with this hijack. The point is the kid is smart and talented and has the luxury of choices. Best wishes to him!
State schools do have the ability to compete with high-priced private schools, namely the University of Virginia, College of William and Mary, Cal-Berkeley, UNC, Michigan, and UCLA. With all due respect to Louisiana State University, which is a fine academic institution in itself, and its graduates, it's not in the academic realm of either these schools or Stanford. I truly do respect your opinion Clemson, but I personally feel differently about it.

Regardless, I apologize for side-tracking this thread from giving congratulations to this young man, I wish the absolute best for him and proud to hear a fellow player involved with ABA making it big. If you want to talk about it some more Clemson, feel free to PM me.
