Tom, that just means he's a REAL fan. You have to stick with your team even when they're losing. I've done it with the Oilers/Texans, Rockets (although I don't watch BBall anymore), and yes my Astros even had a few losing years in the late 80's and early 90's.

With all that being said, I have two favorite MLB teams......the Astros, and whoever is playing the WhiteSox! Big Grin
Soxnole,

We should all find a way to smile every day we're above ground. Don't be so pi$$ed. Just a good pitchers duel between Buerhle and Lilly with the Cubs bullpen holding down the fort, for a change.

Didn't understand MacDougal coming out to pitch the 8th, but when you've got the best manager in baseball be sure not to question him.

Sure am sorry that I missed his meltdown on the radio this morning. Couldn't happen to two more self-centered egomaniacs. How dare he want to start a right handed hitting catcher instead of old grumpy. Who in the hell does AJ think he is, the second coming of Yogi Berra?

Thought Buerhle looked terrific and a great job by Lilly. I thought he couldn't beat a good AL team. Oh, ........... LOL.

rosy,

What a player!

However Tony Thomas may be the player of the year and Bryan Henry may be pitcher of the year!

Having said that,Jack Rye may be the best player on the team. Buster Posey was the freshman All American SS last year and looks to be an All American @ catcher this year. This has been a great ride with a very talented team, top to bottom.

Soxnole,

I don't pretend to know the 'Noles like you do. Of course, Tony Thomas is having a great year and will be drafted high. Bryan Henry has been a stud all season. But without Hallberg, you probably can't move Posey to catcher, where he's been tremendous and, IMO, a better catcher than SS. Mark may not be the best player on the team, but without him you wouldn't be sitting at the top of the rankings. If he had been acquired in a trade, it would go down as a steal! Just so you know, I never saw the young man play a game until this season and I'm not his uncle.
Ozzie's already said and deposited more garbage that you wonder where's the uproar. Well, we all should know by now. The PC police only operate on one side of the street. Certain groups can say what they want at will, and seemingly the liberals that rant and rave and get people fired at first light of dawn just look the other way.

Ozzie will bury himself in due time.

Truth be told I was happy the Stros even made it to the WS, as anyone who watched the series, and judging by the numbers not many did, all of those games could have gone either way, one pitch here, one pitch NOT there..... you get the point.

I was happy for the Sox after 86 years of futility, that they finally got back to and won a Series, now please don't tell me you'll be reminding all of us about it for the next 86 years. Big Grin

BTW, thanks for Carlos Lee, via Milwaukee!
