She knows it. Her parents know it. She's switching to softball next year. What she may not realize is being a baseball pitcher has absolutely nothing to do with being a softball pitcher. At thirteen she'll be three years behind most travel pitchers who start taking lessons at ten.
This may well be her only year for glory. Savor it. It is good that her parents are aware of that. Maybe she is proficient in tennis, golf, swimming, music, academics, etc. which will give her glory in a different sphere.

As to this baseball year, since girls mature about a year earlier than boys, she has the same advantage of male early bloomers. She would most likely suffer the same fate in baseball as her curerntly advanced male counterparts next year. She has the advantage of it being socially acceptable to play softball. Maybe not as a pitcher, maybe F4. Time will tell.

But for now, savor the moment.

Statistically the ride is almost over for every LL'er. and your point is?

I know of two young women playing HS ball in our area. I think both are on their JV teams. There are a lot of young men who never make the HS team.

Nice job and enjoy the success at any level.
