These two pitchers have put on a free pitching clinic every 5th day for the past 20 years.

....Who's delivery would you most want your son to emulate and why.

For me its John Smoltz. Not only has he been pitching well late into his career, but his stuff is still dominant. The list of 40 year olds that still have this type of velocity to go along with an explosive breaking ball is very short (Ryan, Clemens, Schilling, and Johnson...maybe someone else?)

......But if my son had to settle for Maddux's delivery I guess I would make the best of it. Wink

I would take Maddux over Smoltz any day, and Maddux is the guy I'm teaching my son to emulate.

Reasons being...

- Better mechanics.
- No injuries.
- More wins.
- Better W/L ratio.

Maddux is the definition of a pitcher for me.

Smoltz is good, but he's no Maddux.
