.......well ladies....despite a few short and brief crying sessions before Thanksgiving.....I'm happy to report that I made it through this holiday, the first holiday in my son's 19 years, that we were not together. Granted I didn't cook the turkey, had boiled Maine lobster instead......and probably failed in many other ways to recognize the Holiday itself.....but.....still made it through....

What really helped me was remembering and praying for those mothers with sons and daughters in the service, overseas.....

Hope the rest of you Moms whose sons did not/could not make it home for Thanksgiving did well too.....

Thank goodness he'll be here for Christmas.....don't think I could ignore much of that Holiday.....especially the gifts.....

ARed - Glad to hear that the holiday wasn't too lonely. I'm sure Brian would have preferred to be home, buy am also sure he had a great time visiting and being spoiled by his aunt.

I just saw last weekend a young man who has finished his enlistment in the Marines. He served 2 years in Iraq. His mother was beaming to have him home for good. Made me think once again about how lucky those of us who only have to worry about our boys in the classroom and on the baseball field have it.

Christmas will be here very shortly and it will truly be a blessed one for you! Smile
Arizonared,

Aren't you glad that Christmas is only a few weeks away!!!!???? Smile Your son will be home before you know it, and the idea of spending Thanksgiving away from him will only be a memory. Glad to hear you survived the experience, but it will only make your Christmas with your son all the more special this year! Wink
