Carroll pitcher Tyler Alexander was dominating through 5 2/3... was tiring though, threw a wild pitch, 12-foot high, came walking off mound shaking wrist and was replaced.

Carroll led 2-1 with two outs in 6th... Marcus tied scored on a squeeze bunt, and then DH Matt Holcomble hit a towering, 380-foot to deep center (390 fence) against wind to drive in winning run.

Colin Poche'.. 11 Ks, 5 hits, BB gave up first
Earned Run of season. Looks good, smooth, fluid, didn't get rattled when Carroll scored in first inning...More than a dozen scouts... not overpowering as you see some big HS throwers (Not a Clayton Kershaw).. but 6-2, lefty, still growing into body will get some money... Jumped out of nowhere for his senior year after last year he worked through early season arm problems...

Carroll top four hitters are terrific... defense doesn't cover much range... Marcus got the win it had to have, gritty team...might be Carroll this round but don't see a big playoff run like 2010 or 2009..

Carroll throws recent A&M commit Greg Maitso in Game 2 Friday at Dragonland..Marcus throws righty Brandon Courville Game 1 Story

It wasn't a squeeze bunt. After the starter came out there were two outs with a runner on third. It was more like a swinging bunt. The 2nd pitcher (I believe) didn't realize or forgot that there were two outs. Tried to make the play at home when when he should of went to first to end the inning. It was a bang bang play at the plate. The SL coach immediately yelled something and the pitcher had the look of "oh c r a p"!.
