Had the pleasure to hear an interview on the Dan Patrick Show (ESPN radio) yesterday. He was interviewing American League All-Star 1B Mark Texiera.
Mark played for Jim McCandless, Severna Park (MD) American Legion, when I first me him as a scrapping 9th grader. I grew to know Mark as he continued to develop under McCandless' watchful eye. Great kid, super player, a real leader.
As I heard the interview, I heard the same Mark I knew 8-10 years ago. Level-headed, honest, and never using the word "I".
What are your impressions of Mark out there America? Any reason why he shouldn't be recognized as one of the top 5 players in the game in a few years?
