I know John Marzano started the league to get kids exposure to college coaches and pro scouts. Do they come out to the games? Do they give scholarships?
It looks like there are six teams this year compared to eight to ten last year. These numbers may fit with the statements a couple of dads told me it wasn't worth it. One change I see in the schedule is improved start times. Some start times used to be in the middle of the day on weekdays. This isn't a league you try out for. Teams sign up to be in it. I can't download to the computer I'm on right now. When I can see the rosters I might be able to comment more.
I just found out that a kid that went to Monsignor Bonner High School (Drexel Hill, PA) and played in the Marzano Scout League and now got a scholarship to Stanford U.
He might have eaten Wheaties. But that's not why he's going to Stanford. I doubt he'll be playing at Stanford from the Marzano League. First, he must be exceptional. Second he probably attended a PG or Head First showcase. I wasn't aware of anyone in the area getting a ride to Stanford. Who is it?
Add: After doing a little research Bonner's best player Kerins, a first team All Catholic League signed with West Chester, a D2 in the PSAC.
