It's a shame that the mind-set is that you have to hit 90 to be considered a pitcher. Hitting high 80's and 90 can be achieved by throwing. Theres a huge gap between throwing and pitching. His exposure will come if it hasn't already. Cream will always rise to the top and to be honest I don't know this kid nor have I seen him play. JMO concerning radar readings. They have ruined more potential pitchers than overuse IMO. Best 3 pitches I ever witnessed read 53-52-51 KS to a future NL Rookie of the year while in high school.

Open Eyes -- you're new here, or so it seems. We don't make it a practice to criticize kids or label them over-rated. If that's what you're looking for -- you won't get much scoop here.

There's a reason the scouts like to see a pitcher multiple times and that cross-checkers are brought in.

In the two outings I've seen Lane, his curveball was more than "mediocre" and his command was outstanding. He shows signs of understanding how to get in the head of the batters and keep them guessing.

He wasn't over rated or mediocre when he no hit the Keller Indians last year.

Good pitcher in my book.
