MAX BP Pitching machine

Hi everybody, I know this has been asked before most likely, but has anyone used the Max BP pitching machine that throws these small golf size wiffle balls out of a machine. Thinking about getting one for my 15 year old HS player. Is this product worth the $500? Will it help him with his hitting or is it more of a gimmick?
