11sdad - No, I wasn't there, I just enjoy following the kids my son has played with and against over the years. Good luck to Arlington Martin as you move on in the play-offs. It looks like your son has had a nice year and I wish you continued success.
Thanks PD & OBN, it should be a fun series this week and you are buying dinner aren't you?
And as far as our big sticks go we are going to need them all if we plan on winning.

Thanks cheapseats, he has had a good year and he had a good game today after he got out of the 1st.
Anyone hear how Corsicana did this weekend against Copperas Cove?
OP-
Tigers sweep Copperas Cove with 4-2 win
From Staff Reports (Corsicana Daily Sun)
It didn't matter where the Tigers played Copperas Cove. The advantage remained with the Tigers.
After moving the beginning of the best-of-three series to Copperas Cover to avoid thunderstorms Thursday, the Tigers dominated Game 1, 9-0, and headed back home with hopes of getting the sweep on their homefield.
Poor field conditions at both James G. Price Field and Navarro's Perry D. Graham Field were enough to move the series back to Copperas Cove, which didn't prove a problem as the Tigers beat the Cove, 4-2, today.
The Tigers had seven hits and no errors, while Cove had seven hits on three errors.
Game 1 of the best-of-three series with Dallas Seagoville is tenatively set for Thursday at Forney High School.

quote:FYI... my son said the Fossil Ridge guys were a pretty "cool bunch" of guys. No trash talking, etc.
mom-Doug Dulany runs a great program at Fossil. He's a class act. That was nice of you to point out, and congrats on the win!
OBN-We know several families from the C'ville team and are very sad for them; however, they are all underclassmen that will live to fight another day. We're happy you get to fight at least another week. Great radio game for sure! Congrats!

Thanks Cheapseats......I figured that was the outcome (Corsicana winning the series), but just hadn't heard for sure.
I was surprised to see that Waxahachie lost their series this weekend against Brownwood. Any thoughts/comments out there on that series?

Way to go Tyler Bruce!! Glad to hear it!
Looks like momandcpa was being modest with the details of how they accomplished the come back for the win today...

Cheapseats, you are truly amazing! Great research! I need you to come demonstrate your skills to my English classes.
collikar - My son would say I need to "get a life"
Congrats to P. West
Cheapseats: I too am amazed by your knowledge and your resources, way to go girl!!!!!
And you are right on the modesty of momandcpa, to a fault she is modest when it comes to her team.

Nice pitching by the combination of Parker, Foster and Pair for TCA's win today.

Congrats to TCA, sounds like you guys are on your way for a "repeat"......
quote:..and Mulkey and Guest and Kettler all threw in multiple games. Now I'm not saying that all of these guys were overused this weekend
Kettler only threw to a couple of batters Thursday night and threw 3 innings or so on Saturday so I don't he fits in the "overused" category. P.S. Also played great shortstop.
Dumas/Frenship???
I think my point has been missed, ACowboy. No worries.

JAFO- Congrats on Rowlett's first round win. Wow, did I totally underestimate the "Senior Stud Power" on that team. Should be able to make it through the next round in two games. I know last year you guys didn't go as far as you had hoped in the playoffs, so everyone's got to be pretty excited in Eagle Nation regarding your playoff run this year.
I am trying to fill in the remaining gaps in the Region 2 bracket. Did The Woodlands advance? Who advances from the Mesquite Horn / Dallas WT White series?
RH -- Yes, the Woodlands advanced to play Round Rock and Mequite Horn beat WT White in 3.

LIONS - I believe deez was posting the TAPPS scores from May 5th. I would assume he left off PCA's game in this thread since it was not played on May 5th. Also, if you read his prior posts I think you will see that he/she is from Bishop Lynch, not TCA.
Good luck to Dallas Christian and Prestonwood Christian who will both be playing in the TAPPS 5A final four on Friday in Waco.
Good luck to Bishop Lynch and TCA who will both be playing in the TAPPS 6A final four.
