Just an FYI to let the Baseball Folks in Illinois know what is up with us. Hope that you all have a great Thanksgiving - Jack
The McHenry County Youth Sports Association (MCYSA) announced at the 2008 tournament that we would be sending a team of local Host Organization players to the Dominican Republic in 2009. The MCYSA Select 15U Team, consisting of fifteen players, will be playing a tournament in the Dominican Republic this coming June. Three players from each of this past years 15U Host Organizations: CL Babe Ruth, Cardinals, Cyclones, Bombers and LITH Thunder; will depart on June 16th for Santa Domingo and play 6 – 8 games over the next five days against teams from various Latin countries.
Players chosen from the Host Organizations will be selected not only for their baseball abilities but will also be required to supply teacher recommendations, verification of satisfactory academic standing and commit to a Code of Conduct. Since 1993 our communities have hosted players from around the world in the annual International Championships that MCYSA has sponsored. In 2009 fifteen of our local student/athletes will enjoy the thrill of a lifetime while playing our National Pastime in a setting unlike anything that they have ever experienced.
The tryouts will be held early in 2009. Additional information will be distributed through prospective players Host Organization team managers in the next couple of weeks.
