This is a great honor.

If he does leave the football team to do this, I'd like for someone to roll tape when he tells his football coach. I am not trying to make light of his situation, but I have worked with quite a few football coaches and I have a feeling what will be said.

I wish ML and his family all the best no matter what he does.

Can not think of a player that deserves the honor more than Matt--great player/kid and mom/dad are pretty nice people too.

Matt missed the opening football game Friday for the try-outs and he is missing games 2 and 3 for the tournament. The MHS football coaches have been nothing but supportive and encouraging to him to chase this dream. If you have never seen Matt play football, Holy cow! I watched him play as a soph. last year, he was the best player on the field every time i saw him. Go Lions!

I tip my hat to the football coaches at McKinney. They are a rare breed. Ya'll are lucky to have them.

ML was 8 for 17.....that's an awesome week at the plate!!!!!!

I was noticing the sizes of these guys......16U only 3 kids under 6 foot.........most 6'1"-6'2" 180... man those guys are physical and talented!!
