Posters in the Men Only forum,

I've been trying to stay out of here and allow the posters in this forum to exercise their own good judgment, but I have received several member complaints today. Here is one:

= = = = = = = = = = = =
"IN MY LIFETIME, I couldn't imagine that there would be SUCH FILTH AND GROSS POSTINGS on the HSbaseballweb.com site!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why not link the site to Hustler magazine so the kids on the site could go there, too.

Are you reading what has been posted?????????"

Just in case you wonder, this was NOT posted by a female member, it was posted by a baseball dad who has been a member of our forums for several years.

So I read through some of your recent threads, and had to move 4 or 5 of them out of the forum. (They go into a moderation section in case anyone really, really needs to know "what was so bad about them".)

I don't want to have to be an old school marm here, but this is a G-rated site, and some of the posts were R-rated and maybe worse.

This website exists for the benefit of baseball parents and players, including kids as young as 13 or 14. Maybe they have read that stuff before, but we don't want them to read it here.

Please keep the age of our audience in mind when posting. And if you see any posts that you think are inappropriate here, please report them to a moderator so that we can keep it clean. (Click the little triangle icon in the bottom right corner of the post.)

Thank you,
Julie

I would like to offer an apology to anyone who may have been offended by, or thought that the content of my "moderated" post was inappropriate for younger readers. I was not my intent to push the envelope of “decency” or cause any controversy among other forum members. My intention was to convey a humorous account of a situation that I felt other posters in the “Men Only” forum might find entertaining.

Again, I sincerely apologize to anyone I might have offended.
I should also explain that after the threads were sent to the moderation que, ALL the posts in that thread are automatically replaced (for all viewers except administrators), with "This topic is currently under moderation, please check back later."

This does not mean that the specific post or poster was a problem. It may have been a perfectly innocent post within the thread, or even a warning posted by that member for other members to be more careful.

Some threads had a number of good posts and a few inappropriate ones, which is why I moved the threads instead of deleting them. Maybe they will eventually be "tidied up" and then reinstated.
