Metal Cleats

My sons like the cleat pattern of Mizuno. I don't know the difference.

However, the reason I responded is I have always found Eastbay to be extremely expensive.

I would find a cleat you like, look at the Eastbay price then check out Western Athletic or Sport2000.net or any of a dozen other INTERNET baseball stores and see where you get the best price (including shipping)

I just picked up a pair of Akadema's new spike.... it's super light, at only 13oz. I will try out a pair and let you know.

Ditto on what BigWI said about Eastbay. Excellent source of equipment, but regular prices are high.

I prefer WASupply also. Prices are usually very competitive!

Ive been wearing mizounos for the last 3 years and I like them a lot.

Alot of players...pitchers too, are switching back to synthetic, rubber etc to take the weight off and to keep from tripping. Pitchers, catchers inf, of etc in the majors may be as high as 50% this year. Check it out. My son is switching this year to see how it goes...I think he already likes it...but the metal tradition is long.

The Mizuno 9 spike are the way to go. I've found that with nikes that they are really skinny and by the second game your feet start to hurt. Also its a lot nicer having 9 spikes rather then only 6! The Mizunos are the way to go.

i have to disagree i ordered nikes off of nikeid and i prefer the 8 spikes over the 9 the 2 spikes in front makes me kinda trip every once in a while and the nikes are way more comfortable

My oldest son's favorite cleats was a pair of Asics Gels, 5 spike claw plate in the front and a 3 spike plate in the back. Asics no longer makes cleats so he now uses Easton or Mizuno.

What about the new Adidas Excelsior or the Puma Cell K2? Do they compare to the Mizuno 9 spike? And what is the cheapest store for cleats?

I'm gonna have to side with Starzz. I tripped and rolled my ankle pitching from the stretch, but I like the grip Mizuno metal has on the dirt.

i like the mizuno 9 spikes also, but about halfway through the season part of the shoe was tearing apart. good cleats for only like 25 games.

I looked on Eastbay today and they have spikes with the Nike Shox on them. That is pimpin.

Eastbay is having a mega sale on everything now. Most of the metal spikes are on sale.

I decided that the Mizuno 9 spike Classics were the best. Some of my friends say that there isn't much support on them.
