Let me be the first to congratulate Mike, and wish him continued success.

Baseball America - August 28-September 10, 2006

LOW "A" LEAGUE
"Righthanders Clay Buchholz and MICHAEL BOWDEN were ranked as the Red Sox' No. 10 and No. 11 prospects entering the season, and there has been little to distinguish them statistically this season.
In 92 innings for Greenville, Bowden was 7-4 with 105 strikeouts, 26 walks and nine home runs allowed. Buchholz was also 7-4 with 106 strikeouts, 28 walks and nine homers allowed in 93 innings. ERA was the only place they truly differed as Bowden had a 3.23 ERA while Buchholz' was 2.81".

PROSPECT PULSE -
"Prospects perform their way into contention for each organization's top 10 list 2007"

RED SOX
Michael Bowden - Low A Greenville/High A Wilmington RHP

"A supplemental first-round pick in 2005, Bowden consistently showed a sinking 92-94 mph fastball in the South Atlantic League. Combined with his plus curveball, Bowden used two plus pitches to register 118 strikeouts in 108 innings for the Drive. Bowden was promoted before his 20th birthday to help Wilmington in its quest for a fifth Carolina League title, and first as a Red Sox affiliate."

"You observe a lot by watching."
