First off, it is an excellent educational opportunity. The facilites and stadium have just been renovated and are very nice. They actually weren't too bad before they redid them. Baseball field is on campus and right next to the "Big House", the 100,000 seat plus football stadium. Though 2009 was a down year for Michigan, they are generally in contention for the Big Ten title every year and have been in the NCAA tourney on a fairly regular basis representing the conference.
They had 4 or 5 kids drafted and signed off of their 2008 team and that probably contributed to their 2009 results. If you have the chance to go to Michigan and play baseball it would be a good opportunity.
I have nothing but the highest regard for that program, especially Coach Maloney. Son was an offered recruit, ended up choosing elsewhere but not due to anything to do with the staff. Coaches excellent individuals, straight forward. Campus and education among the best. Facilities Aces for a midwest campus. Can't say anything but good things about our experience with UM.
More than happy to discuss our experience in a PM if desired.
