It's amazing how much of the country has been affected by these storms. Such a huge area. I hope this is a good story.

INDIANAPOLIS — A baby girl found alone in a field in Indiana after Friday's massive, tornado-spawning storms is being treated in a Kentucky hospital.

A spokeswoman for the hospital in Salem, Ind., where the girl was first taken said Saturday that authorities were still trying to figure out how she ended up in the field alone. St. Vincent Salem Hospital spokeswoman Melissa Richardson says the child's family is from New Pekin, Ind., about 10 miles south of where the child was found.

Richardson says the girl is in critical condition at Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville, Ky. She says she can't release the name of the girl or her family.
Oh that's even more bad news.

We drove down Friday to see the Pepperdine @ Louisville series. We knew the storms were possible (probable) and halfway down, they moved Friday's game to a Saturday doubleheader. We decided to keep going so that no matter what happened, we'd be together as a family.

Ride was uneventful. Ate lunch in Clarksville with the tornado sirens going off. Storm was obviously off to the north, but not by much. The restaurant assured us they'd get us in their freezer if a tornado approached. We didn't know where else to go so we stayed.

After lunch we stopped in Dick's sporting goods. The huge TV in the shoe dept had the weather channel on and they were rattling off names of towns and counties that we weren't familiar with. That was a little disconcerting.

A quick check with the map on my phone showed the storm was about 20 miles north, unfortunately, just hitting Henryville at that moment. They said the trailing edge of the storm was 30 minutes from Louisville.

So we hightailed it to the campus and spent an hour in the basement of the baseball clubhouse. Luckily for us, the storm went both north and south of our location in Louisville.

Today we drove by Henryville on the way home and saw semi-trailers stacked three high at what was a truck stop 48 hours earlier.

We have felt guilty, scared, sad, relieved and amazed all at the same time this weekend. All we can do is be thankful that God spared us and pray for those that were not as lucky.
