So I was asked this today when we were talking about the Giants pitcher who was hit in the head last night. What would be the ruling if the ball had gone into the stands or the dugout after he got hit?

Two bases, just like it had bounced over the outfield fence.
Ok, we were undecided if it would be a ground rule double or a home run as has been seen before when it bounces off a player..

Yep. Hard to imagine a ball bouncing of the head of the pitcher and exiting the field 300 feet away.
Obviously, a homerun would not be called if it, as the OP suggested, might enter the dugout.
