#3 prospect in baseball out for the season needing Tommy John surgery. He is a Twins 3b prospect. Devastating for the Twins. They seem to have the worst luck (or worst medical staff) recently with a lot of their young pitching prospects having TJ recently too. Wonder how this will hinder his development. Anyone seen him play? From all reports it seems he was/is the prospect with the best shot of being a 40+/100 guy.

As a Twins fan, this is a real downer. Him and Byron Buxton were supposed to the be the future but I guess that will be on hold for a little while.
Very disappointing! And yes, it does seem like the Twins could use some good luck!

It is certainly disappointing that Sano will miss valuable development time due to the injury. However, I highly doubt the Twins felt as though both he and Buxton were going to be impactful at the Major League level in 2014. The future in Minnesota is still quite bright.
Very true JH. I wasn't expecting the Twins to call up Sano until June at the earliest. Was looking forward to follow his progress this year in AA. Just hope he is ready to go next year.
I wonder how this will affect him as a hitter if at all.
