My High School junior son is considering going down to Tallahassee for this camp dec 27-30 . Does anyone have any feedback on this camp ?

We attended the pitching one few years back. I wasn't overly impressed. They were taught some fairly sound fundamentals (a couple I question), by mostly players. Ours was a two day camp and both day one and two were identical.
They did have a very information class session one evening, but the head recruiter, who ran the camp, let it be known that if you were there to be recruited you wasted your time. With the lottery scholarships available to Florida kids, they only go after the very top guys outside the state. They did have a gun on the pitchers during the bull pen session and they called out the speeds. Not a note pad in site and I only saw one kid approached and he was already on their list.
Just one person's opinion. Nice guys, nice facilities, save some money and take lessons locally unless your kid is one of the guys they already have identified.

I'd be interested to know what the sound fundamentals were that you questioned. I think I know what you're trying to say, but it sounds contradictory.
Little stuff really and some of it is in the eye of the beholder. The one that stands out in my memory after these few years, sac bunt fielded by pitcher and flipped to the catcher. They were teaching to "really flip" the glove to propel the ball. IMO you have more control with more of a pushing motion. Like I said small stuff that people can agree to disagree on.
Being from Tallahassee and knowing the Florida State guys pretty well I can tell you that the camp is super organized and run by one of the very best camp guys in the business Chip Baker who is FSU's director of baseball operations.
My son is an outfielder and considered to be very good hitter . He doesnt really need any extra hitting instruction as he does that on regular basis here in Chicago. We werent considering going to this camp to be recruited by the Florida State guys , but maybe to make a few contacts if there happened to be other schools taking notice . and also just to have a good time and have a worthwhile experience.
