Couple of things.
Bear,
you need to get your info straight and you need to be a bit more honest in your posting. First, you have NOT ignored some of my posts, some of your retort has been nasty, including some nasty pm's. Also the way you address moms here is regarded as sexist and that is NOT coming from me, not from another mom, but from parent who has compassion, a gentleman. You also have a history of making negative comments in public about players either here or elsewhere, be aware people are listening. I have never seen you add anything, in years, of value here that may help anyone, just rambling, sometimes no one knows what you are talking about.
BTW, what was your point of bringing up a post from 3 years ago? It wasn't just about missing JT was it?
Try to do a search and find where I personally have ever mentioned or discussed my players stats or performance without someone else first posting? You and I both know that getting called up to back up a split squad in spring training is what it is, a reserve. Not an invitee for spring training, a reserve, because either the non roster invitees have been sent down, not enough pitchers, or the ML player for that position that day isn't playing or has had enough. Those are the things I am trying to point out, as exciting as it sounds, it's a one day gig (I did point that out in my post), so don't get into those rose color glasses garbage with me. The idea is about telling people how it is, and helping to understand that there are things you can control and things you can't. It doesn't matter if you were the last guy picked or the first guy, it is a daily grind and a daily struggle.
Hey, why not come here and let people know about the day your pitcher struggled on the mound, or at bat, why do some of you just post the more pleasant days, why not be realistic?
Low,
Nice post, and I agree with infielddad, this is what this site is supposed to be about, helping others, but remember what he said, there are most likely hundreds of pm's or emails that have gone back and forth regarding helping others. I learned a lot from infielddad, without a phone call. He'll always be there to help anyone.
Those people in this business of baseball, will pick and choose who they will help and who they will not. Coach May is a great example of a coach helping others to understand more about the game and player's roles in a POSITIVE MANNER. He does it because he likes to help others, with nothing to gain. That's how you gain respect here, telling it like it is in a couteous and helpful manner. Now take PG, a man in the business of baseball, who comes and spends his time, gives his support and believes in the HSBBW and is always positive.
Do we hear from them about how this site used to be better, how bad the moderators are, etc. Nope, therein lies your difference. IMO, and probably others, if you don't like it here, why are you here? I can't figure that one out. I am going to assume that many comments made here are not just in support of me, just those that are just plain tired of the same stuff, and constantly reminded what we should do, while they can't do it themselves. Everyone has a purpose here, and I personally will give you respect you are due if you respect others, not just those you choose too. That includes, moms, dads, sister, brothers, uncles, players. Everyone.
Again, a good point made, some people need the HSBBW nore than the HSBBW needs them.
While some didn't like that I closed the topic, that was my topic and I chose to do what I wanted, you all can start your own and close it as well, get in your last word if that makes you feel so much better.
I didn't mean for this to become, let's take sides, I have my reasons for why I feel the way I do, and yes, it becomes very tiresome when you have to think carefully what you can or can't post because you know someone is going to come and bring up something just to begin an argument (not a discussion), just to be seen in the post, for no other reason even after being asked not to do so. Then makes comments that are personal and demeaning, most of the time.
Anyway, no more topics started by me, I don't even want to post anything anymore, other than to recognize the good stuff (and sometimes the bad stuff) so I guess some can take it as a slight peronal victory.
I have gotten some good feedback on what I posted here before it was interrupted, so I have begun my own blog @
