Couple of things.
Bear,
you need to get your info straight and you need to be a bit more honest in your posting. First, you have NOT ignored some of my posts, some of your retort has been nasty, including some nasty pm's. Also the way you address moms here is regarded as sexist and that is NOT coming from me, not from another mom, but from parent who has compassion, a gentleman. You also have a history of making negative comments in public about players either here or elsewhere, be aware people are listening. I have never seen you add anything, in years, of value here that may help anyone, just rambling, sometimes no one knows what you are talking about.
BTW, what was your point of bringing up a post from 3 years ago? It wasn't just about missing JT was it?
Try to do a search and find where I personally have ever mentioned or discussed my players stats or performance without someone else first posting? You and I both know that getting called up to back up a split squad in spring training is what it is, a reserve. Not an invitee for spring training, a reserve, because either the non roster invitees have been sent down, not enough pitchers, or the ML player for that position that day isn't playing or has had enough. Those are the things I am trying to point out, as exciting as it sounds, it's a one day gig (I did point that out in my post), so don't get into those rose color glasses garbage with me. The idea is about telling people how it is, and helping to understand that there are things you can control and things you can't. It doesn't matter if you were the last guy picked or the first guy, it is a daily grind and a daily struggle.
Hey, why not come here and let people know about the day your pitcher struggled on the mound, or at bat, why do some of you just post the more pleasant days, why not be realistic?

Low,
Nice post, and I agree with infielddad, this is what this site is supposed to be about, helping others, but remember what he said, there are most likely hundreds of pm's or emails that have gone back and forth regarding helping others. I learned a lot from infielddad, without a phone call. He'll always be there to help anyone.
Those people in this business of baseball, will pick and choose who they will help and who they will not. Coach May is a great example of a coach helping others to understand more about the game and player's roles in a POSITIVE MANNER. He does it because he likes to help others, with nothing to gain. That's how you gain respect here, telling it like it is in a couteous and helpful manner. Now take PG, a man in the business of baseball, who comes and spends his time, gives his support and believes in the HSBBW and is always positive.

Do we hear from them about how this site used to be better, how bad the moderators are, etc. Nope, therein lies your difference. IMO, and probably others, if you don't like it here, why are you here? I can't figure that one out. I am going to assume that many comments made here are not just in support of me, just those that are just plain tired of the same stuff, and constantly reminded what we should do, while they can't do it themselves. Everyone has a purpose here, and I personally will give you respect you are due if you respect others, not just those you choose too. That includes, moms, dads, sister, brothers, uncles, players. Everyone.

Again, a good point made, some people need the HSBBW nore than the HSBBW needs them.

While some didn't like that I closed the topic, that was my topic and I chose to do what I wanted, you all can start your own and close it as well, get in your last word if that makes you feel so much better.

I didn't mean for this to become, let's take sides, I have my reasons for why I feel the way I do, and yes, it becomes very tiresome when you have to think carefully what you can or can't post because you know someone is going to come and bring up something just to begin an argument (not a discussion), just to be seen in the post, for no other reason even after being asked not to do so. Then makes comments that are personal and demeaning, most of the time.

Anyway, no more topics started by me, I don't even want to post anything anymore, other than to recognize the good stuff (and sometimes the bad stuff) so I guess some can take it as a slight peronal victory.

I have gotten some good feedback on what I posted here before it was interrupted, so I have begun my own blog @

TPM,

I dont think you should stop the creation of new topics - nor do I think you should stop posting your opinions.

If people dont like those opinions - so what?

I reached that point a few times over the years - and then it dawned on me. So what?

I now realize that as long as I am posting what I honestly believe - and as long as I am not disparaging anyone or any player - it is all good.

It may not be helpful - it may bore some people - and maybe it may even help a few or be interesting to them.

As long as I give it my best and honest effort - I couldn't care less what anyone thinks.

Wink

It is blatantly apparent that some posters on here do not believe in debate any longer, pewrhaps they have no idea what a good debate entails---post anything contrary to their wishes and thoughts and they shut down the thread and you are a "bad guy"

Too many sensitive folk here ---di they know what the real world is?

Do you ever know which end you are talking out of? LOL. I mean really.

Debate according to Merriam-Webster: a regulated discussion of a proposition between two matched sides

You my friend have become nothing more than an antagonist. (one that contends with or opposes another).

You don't debate. You constantly try to find ways to cause controversy and demean Posters on here with your incessant prodding and poking. You thrive off of it.

Don't come on here with a pity posting that you're considered a "bad guy". It don't fly here.

YGD
I was going to jump in here but now I think I will just quietly step aside.

Oh wait a minute. I forgot I could give a rats as*! Or I could take a rats as*! Lets see if I give someone a rats as* that means I have to be holding one. If I take a rats as* that means I am stupid enough to take one from someone and I am standing in front of someone stupid enough to be holding one and trying to give it to me.

Yeah I think I will just step aside and let you sane folks continue with your baseball discussion! lol

Think hard about that TR, I guess he thinks if you can do it to others, why can't he. Perhaps if you go back and search somewhere, you will see that you have not really debated with him, but just tried to embarrass. After all, we're just "freakin parents", right?

Also, I don't think others want to hear, "you don't care what others think", because if you didn't, really didn't, you'd be thinking of some really good topic to post in or giving your sage advice soemwhere rather than being here.

Oh wait, maybe, you might feel you have the right to defend yourself against those who really don't know you? Funny how you feel that you have the right to do that, and others don't.

CM,
Good post, some of us have tried a good discussion, but it never seems to be good enough, too much misinformation, too much, you don't know what you are talking about, you are just a stupid parent, maybe a stupid umpire, it does go on and on and it's old, really old.
I agree this is nonsense stuff, perhaps if TR showed some respect for the HSBBW, and it's members, besides just who he wants to, this would end.

I see my attempt at humor didn't work so well. All I know is right now there is a kid that could use some advice somewhere. There is a parent that could use some as well. Many times I have said this and I have heard it here as well by others. Dont waste one minute of your time worrying about the things you can not control. Its one more minute you could be spending doing something to help yourself or more importantly someone else.

I think we need to remember why we come here and what this site is all about. Its not about us. It might have been one day. But its not about us anymore. Its about those that need those that have been there and done that. Its about those that need that minute that we are waisting here acting like children.

It doesnt matter who's fault it is. Be the bigger person and drop it and move on. Go post something that is actually going to help someone. You can get ****ed and say who are you to tell me what to do. I am simply asking you to remember why you are here. Asking you to remember what you needed when you first came here. Give back and stop the banter.

I will go to bed now. This post is directed at whoever wants to take it. If you dont then dont. But seriously this is silly.

I agree with you, good post. This site is about helping others and as I have said and others, it's what you can do for the HSBBW, not what the HSBBW can do for you. It doesn't matter if you have helped 1000 or just one, each person brings something to the table.
You are a very wise person, some people should listen to what you are trying to say, and I know that YOU know what I mean.
I am going to be the better person and move on, good idea Tim. Some poeple just post adn click. The ugliness rubs off, I apologize to anyone I may have offended.
For someone else, so what if someone who claims how tough they are doesn't like what was said about them, that's what you get when you are vicious to others, get over it, move on, try to be a better person, make yourself useful and credible.

I have been watching and occasionally posting on HSBBW for about 3 years now. I used to post under Lexbaseball33 and couldn't remember ID and passwords so decided to post under new name as I haven't posted very often anyway. I can tell all the posters in this post that I have read and learned much over the last three years from all of you. TPM and TRhit I have agreed and disagreed with things you have said in the past but can tell you both that I appreciate your views whether or not I agree. The great thing about this site is you get to pick and choose views from different prospectives and then help your player make decisions with better knowledge. I think both of you need to realize your true value on this site as it helps many people concerning the most important people in their lives. From my prospective there are no right or wrong opinions as everyone posts things that they truly believe to be correct. One opinion may be right in one situation and very wrong in another but may help regardless. Thank you both for your views even though they are very different.
