For whatever reason, I make it a habit to review the Milb transactions nearly every week.
Today, one transaction report struck me. It illustrates how tough it is in Milb and the suddenness with which careers end.
Included in the list of weekly transactions was a summary about the very first 2010 draftee being released.
The player's draft selection was a bit of a story in June, being the very first player drafted from his college. After 2 1/2 months, 12 games and 20 AB's his career is likely is done.
On the one hand, he can be very proud of getting drafted and all the effort he put in to achieve that goal.
On the other, well, it is a business... as 20dad tells us the best.

'You don't have to be a great player to play in the major leagues, you've got to be a good one every day.'
