CD..

Thanks for posting the article and to everyone for the kind words.

I too enjoy following our players and have them all bookmarked. I just wish the MiLB website didn't limit the number of players you can bookmark.

My son and Darin have been facing off for the last two seasons and I'll tell ya....Darin is a pest at the plate and on the bases. Smile

I also thought I'd share this video recap from Vance's game. Not to take away from his pitching but the HR was pretty cool too! Big Grin
Homecoming last night. Son got the start at "home park" (San Jose Giants)...100+ old friends showed up and gave him a big roar at beginning of game, with each K and when he was finished (scheduled 5 innings). Got the "W." First time I ever heard this from him, but said he was a little nervous.

Pretty surreal to see him pitch at a park I used to take him too since about age 2 or 3. Quite strange, but quite exhilarating too! Wink

Thanks for posting the pics and mentioning the 'Home" ballpark, JBB. Just this Monday, I had the same pleasure of watching my son pitch at the old ballpark where he saw games as an infant. Back then we went to a game there not long after seeing the Braves at Fulton County Stadium. At the local game he encouraged the (then) Yankees' affiliate by doing the Tomahawk Chop.

Haven't had much to report to this thread so far since Jerseyson has been on the DL since mid April!

I'm happy to report that he started his rehab assignment in State College last week. A bit of a bonus for us is that SC is only a few hours away so we got a chance to run over and see him play on Sunday before he gets assigned to his normal team. He went and turned into a man on us Smile

Love seeing everyones pictures... here are a couple of Q.

Worley gets called up by Phillies!

From Reading’s release…

(Reading, PA) - Reading Phillies RHP Vance Worley, who is currently in the midst of a 17-straight scoreless innings streak, has had his contract selected by the Philadelphia Phillies, as announced earlier today by Philadelphia Phillies Senior Vice President and General Manager Ruben Amaro Jr. Worley is the first Reading Phillies player to be promoted straight from Reading AA to Philadelphia this season.
Congratulations to Vance and DB2BMom.

(this news is so cool I started a new topic! Cool)

jerseydad - love the new software!

Could you possibly show a bigger sequence of pictures? I think it would be cool to see the whole motion.

I can see using this as a tool. Photograph your son this way when he is on his game. If there is a lull down the road, photgraph that sequence and compare. I am thinking there could be automated analysis techniques for troubleshooting both pitchers and hitters using these still sequences. Obviously, the faster the camera and the amount of memory it has, a very fine sequence of images could be analyzed. Good stuff Smile
We are headed to Dayton this morning for a 3 game set. A blessing indeed to all the games we have seen this summer but I wouldn't have been upset to see less if he were in another league. Here is a photo from a game the other day where my son collided with the catcher at home and was called out. The catcher took the worst of it and was down for about 5 minutes after the play. When my son called after the game, he said he knocked the stuffing out of him. I said no, "You knocked two homeruns out of him" The catcher went on to hit two homeruns and a double after the collision.
Bob - I wish I would have seen this post sooner or I would have said hello. I believe Jason is standing in for Ken Griffey, Sr. who recently had hip surgery.

Three Bagger - thanks for the kind comments. Scr-appy is a good/accurate description for him and he would appreciate that very much. Another parent told me a few weeks back that he was an "old-school" player and he loved that description as well. Thanks again! Smile

Simply awesome - congrats to Preston!!!

We were in Ft. Wayne Indiana this weekend. Maybe the nicest ballpark I've seen. Here is a picture of my son standing next to the tallest player in the Midwest League in 6'8" Nate Freiman. My son is almost 5'11 and dwarfed by him. Nate is a fine player and his Dad used to post here at one time.
