Thanks TPM - will do! I can't believe mine is 24 going on 25 already. A very long haul indeed. He loves what he does however and even though he doesn't make a lot of money, he feels like he is a "rich" man. He loves what he does.

Thanks TPM and good luck to your son as well! As CD expressed; it is hard to believe "his" dream has come this far! My son did not even want to TALK about work after college other than baseball.

We'll be in Ft. Meyers today at 1:00PM for Redsox/Rays AA milb game. Already scheduled to meet some hsbbwebsters this week. The weather is beautiful although I must admit, it was pretty doggone nice in Cleveland

Perhaps the understatement of the year. Had no idea the Redsox had moved into a new spring training home. The complex (Jet Blu Ballpark) was unbelievably beautiful including the minor league fields out back. I cannot even imagine how much money it cost to construct all that. We were at the Twins spring training home last year and I wasn't sure anyone could top that and that also is in Ft. Meyers. Spectacular day today.
The size of the average pro ball player is pretty impressive. For the most part, really big guys play this game.

$80 million was the price tag for Jet Blue! Fort Myers city officials met with the Nationals last week in D.C. to discuss their moving to the "City of Palms Park" that Boston just vacated. It seems the City built that Park for them a very few years back!
Your are right size; today's baseball players are very big for the most part!
City of Palms was built in 1990. The ballpark is downtown and the training complex (back fields) about five miles away.
