Minnesota freshman Pitcher of the Week in Texas

I don't know if his mom is checking in here very frequently, but I'm delighted to see an 04 RHP from Minnesota, Drew Bignall, start his college career with a bang at Trinity U in Texas.

Drew was recognized as SCAC Pitcher of the Week with a win in his first college start - 5 innings, 6 Ks, no walks, 3 hits, 1 run (and hit 91 mph). He's also a nice kid and a great hitter, but wow, what a debut for a college pitcher!

Another round of congrats to RHPMom and her son Drew. In maybe the biggest game of the season, Drew pitched 7 inings, allowed 6 hits and 0 runs against Southwestern to guarantee Trinity the top seed in next week's SCAC Championship tournament.
Watched him pitch 2 weeks ago. He is really talented...and a great young man also.

Thanks everyone! Drew had a good day on the mound and did his job, as did the rest of the team. They've had a fantastic run the past few games and are ready for the playoffs this weekend.

Thanks Infield for the nice words. It was great to finally meet you and hope to see you again--if not at Trinity then maybe at a Blue Jays game??
