I'm going to be spending the summer in Whitewater, WI. I don't know how often I'll be able to get offcampus yet, but I'm hoping to find some baseball during that time. I plan to hit Miller Park at least once, but where else can I find some baseball within reasonable driving distance of Whitewater? Minor League, Independent Professional Baseball, College Summer Leagues?

Thanks

Bulldog - Beloit Snappers - Class A team affiliated with Twins(?). Beloit is an easy 45 minute drive west. Also have Rockford Riverhawks in the Frontier League (20 minutes south of Beloit) and the Kane County Cougars (Class A - A's) probably 90 minutes south of Whitewater in the Geneva/St. Charles, IL area. Lodi already mentioned the Madison Mallards. I think there is also a team in the Appleton area (Timber Rattlers affiliated with Brewers - Class A) about 2 1/2 hours north of Whitewater.
Milt, thanks. I've done some looking and I've dug up the Snappers and the team there in Appleton (something doesn't sound right about the name, but something close). It's funny about Appleton, though, because one our our staff members here at SEMO is from there. Also, I believe Rockford left the Frontier League this year and joined the Northern League? Still not a terrible trip so we'll see. I was actually disappointed to see the Rockford team move leagues because I interned in the Frontier League last season with the Gateway Grizzlies so was hoping to catch them on the road.

Thanks guys; feel free to keep them coming! Smile
