I could not decided which new catchers mitt to buy, so I decided to order my top 2 and decide once they were shipped. Well I received both today and still have no clue which one I want to keep because they are both so nice!

I ordered 2 different Heart of the Hides. Any experience or opinions on HOH's would be greatly appreciated.

Here are the mitts I ordered:

You won't go wrong either way.

One thing I can tell you is that the Pro Mesh version has been just as durable as the leather one. My son liked the idea that it was a little lighter and cooler, but I was concerned that the mesh backing wouldn't hold up as well. It has gotten hard use for most of the last two years and is holding up extremely well. He likes it a lot.

You may want to just go with the one you find yourself most inclined to put on your hand after spending a day or two with them.
I'm sure that's great advice. I just have always thought mitts were a very personal choice. I never felt comfortable ordering them online, I always wanted to try them on in the store.

There's no doubt you have two good ones there, pick the one that feels the best to you and more importantly...

...drop down an block all those balls in the dirt!
Glove size is a personal preference based upon your style of catching. Just like some middle infielders some catchers will go for the smallest pocket to improve release times (i.e. takes less time to find the ball in a smaller pocket). Others will want a larger glove to avoid dropped balls etc, however I think the first test is how well the glove fits your hand. My son has played games with gloves as small as 31.5 but typically plays with a 32.5 glove and occasionally with a 33 glove.
