MLB Scouting bureau

I believe if a bureau scout turns in a "good report" on a prospect, then most MLB teams will generally arrange to give him a look over the course of a season.

They gather info and disseminate it. They also administer drug tests to projected top draft picks. But they do not in any way influence whether any of the MLB teams drafts a kid, or if so, when. Nor do they play any role in financial negotiations, though the Commissioner's office (above the Bureau) tries to with mixed results.

Excellent for putting high school players on radar screens.

What is the difference if you get a questionaire from an MLB team or the MLB Bureau?

A team is an individual scout/club that is showing interest. Obviously they will not share that information with other organizations. The MLB Bureau will file a report that is available to all Major League teams.

I agree with everyone's comments so far. I would also add being that I assume you are from Wisconsin, this is particularity important understanding that there aren't as many scouts in the Midwest compared to warmer parts of the country.
