My son was just invited to an MLB predraft workout in June right before the draft- what does this mean as far as where he is on the whole scouting continuum?

They're interested enough. Depends on who is in attendance. Area scouts? Crosscheckers? Scouting Director?
Where is it? Their big league field? Minor league field? Etc.
My son went to one at the Ranger's Ballpark in Arlington, TX 1 1/2 years ago because they needed catchers to help with all the pitchers. The pro guys run it similar to an area code workout, with running, hitting, and pitching. The one we were at was attended by people from all over the country. I was told that most of the people there were kids that were considered late bloomers or they had not got a chance to see as much of to do a proper evaluation.
