I assume Rusty Gerhart will be the Bureau scout putting on the tryout.

If considered a prospect, your profile will be available and/or released to all MLB teams.

Mr. Gerhart, in my opinion, is as first class as they get.

Totally agree about Rusty. Love to see him in the spring, he does a great job.

For what it is worth, I highly recommend this tryout for Top level prospects.

Just wondering!!

Major League Scouting Bureau: 2006 Tryout camp schedule

Tryout camps are open for all players over 16 years of age. There is no fee. Registration will be done 30 minutes prior to start of camp. All players must bring their own equipment.
My son went to the tryout in Austin this past Saturday. He was the youngest (17) and I believe the age range went up to 27. Unfortunately, it was on this day that the skies opened (after 2 months of no rain) and the field was under water. No indoor facilities to use, so no tryouts. Fortunately it was a local drive for us, but I felt for those who had traveled to be there. They filled out player info in the dug out and on the card there was a blank for when the player had graduated. Being the "black and white" guy he is, my son wrote - "did not graduate". The scout looked at it and said "No son - fill in WHEN you will graduate".
It is not a beating. They pare down the crowd pretty quickly. If you can't take a one day beating at a MLB tryout, you don't need to be playing baseball.

It is a great way for young, raw talent to get on the radar screen ..... dress up, show up, tell Mr. Gerhart that you love the game, play like you love the game, and don't mention money!! MLB Scouts will not have a hard time determining potential ....and being honest with a player if he doesn't. Some need this experience to move on.

It's MLB.

Forgive me, somethings just bear repeating.
In reply to the Deviled Egg - If it is an open tryout - that means everyone is welcome. I assume that the "TOP OF THE LINE" players were drafted a couple of weeks ago. Most certainly, the possibility exists that they will discover an unknown player. If that didn't occur with some regularity, then I imagine the tryouts would phase out rather quickly. As far as the scout having to put in a full day - I am sure he is quite capable of handling it without complaint.
