MLB informed clubs in a memo today that it is moving forward with regular-season use of PitchCom -- a wearable device that transmits signals from catcher to pitcher -- in 2022.

I actually like this, I think it would greatly speed up the game.
Meh. Typically, I'm in favor of technology where it makes sense. I'm really not seeing the making sense part of the equation here. I really like the bench/catcher/pitcher or catcher/pitcher thought process that had to happen before each pitch. This is the game within the game part I liked most. It challenged the bench and the battery to execute a plan. Sure it may save a few minutes per game. Sure it may be more secure with electronic encryption, but most teams got around that with their own encryption key using different fingers based on a situation or the inning number. Again, I say...meh.
What matters most is what the players think, and they are clearly behind it. So, let's give this a chance and convince old timers like me this is a good thing.
This isn’t about saving time. It’s about signal stealing.

Incorrect as usual. The main thing it will do is speed up the pace of the game. If it works it's a big positive.
It's 2022. I have no problem with modern technology being used the way the NFL does it to communicate plays.

“Aimed at both improving pace of play and preventing opponent sign-stealing.”
I’m 50% correct. You’re 100% an arsehole for the personal attack.
While I posted this article the one I read focused on sign stealing. The link on that one wouldn’t copy. I do believe the bigger benefit will be prevention of sign stealing than improving pace of play.
