It would certainly be in the best interest of baseball in general......the loss of, or diminishment of, college baseball would assist or hasten the decline of the sport...

It would also be a good business move for MLB. College baseball is already an unpaid additional "minor league" providing trained, conditioned, and experienced draft candidates with a visible performance record...

Giving all divisions and conferences exposure on the MLB network is an idea. Funding scholarships will run into red tape(title IX) and the big schools, where most of the picks are from, will get richer.
