LT, the schedules will be sent to the coaches directly -- supposedly today. I am not aware of a site that lists the participants of each tourney...I thought more people would be aware of their location, etc. by now.

Yes, you may be the only one in the light here. With these tourneys, brackets for whatever reason are kept tight lipped. Thanks for the update.

Ditto. These things seem to be closely guarded secrets once it gets to MM level. Also curious about the Heat, as I assumed they would be going to the triple crown, which is the same week as MM Regional [Keller Dad??].

There are a couple of other Arlington Heat teams out there I found out. Know nothing about them other than they wear the same colors.

My son's team is heading to Colorado to Triple Crown, as well as the 18YO Heat team coached by Chris Gaye.

But lets not confuse these other teams with Lynn's team. He has worked hard to make a name for his boys

Can anyone provide insight on why these tournaments are kept so tight lipped? It seems that they would want to promote thier tournaments.

Well, as usual, I have an opinion....

Disorganized AABC leagues, unclear rules on distribution of teams, and little money in these events. On the other hand, I bet the Regional tournament will be well-organized -- Baseball USA will do ok with 16 teams (or whatever the number) for 5 days.

A 5-day tournament with 7 teams under the AABC format at a field without lights should be interesting. So much for work this week!

Posters, please contribute -- let's make THIS a source of info on the state tournaments.

Good question - maybe some just like being "in the know" In this day and age, though, there is no excuse for not having something posted by now. Games could be starting as early as 10 a.m. Wednesday, at least that is when some Connie Mack games are starting.

I do believe that Richard Holt, who is with BBI, is the North Texas state director for AABC. Last week he was kind enough to post the bracket for the MM regional qualifier on the BBI website, but nothing like that this week. According to the BBI site, his email is bbiball@swbell.net, and their phone number is 972-682-1444.

Yes Richare Holt is North Texas AABC Director but BBI is not hosting any of the State Tournmanets, therefore, brackets won't be displayed on their website.

Last week BBI hosted the MMWS Regional Qualifier, that is why brackets were posted.

State tournament bracket secrecy- I don't think this is a secrecy issue. I believe that is more closely related to what Panther Dad said. I was in BBI office yesterday, checking our team in for the tournament, and Richard showed me who was in and where. No big deal! Organization, man power, resources are the issues and I don't mean at Richards level.

Why 3 State Tournaments in the Dfw area? Actually 4, last weekend accomplishes the same thing as the 3 tournaments this weekend. Just call all of them Regional Qualifiers!

Setting up a AABC league is very easy. Minimum no. of teams (4 or something like this) and a league schedule (I think just 3 league games per team need to be played and all players on roster need to be in the scorebook to be eligible). Pay AABC to sanction league, do the paperwork and it's done. The reason I mention this is there were at least 4 leagues in the area, maybe more, and Richard can't organize the tournaments until every league has submitted all teams and where and what age they are playing. On top of all that, Lone Star league games don't officially end until tonight, although AABC participants were determined last week. A lot more goes into this than you all think and most of it is not controllable by Richard Holt and BBI.

So, for all you conspiracy theory believers, this is my 2 cents worth. You should know your schedules, as well as everybodys schedule at every age group, if you want, by today.

Thanks - makes sense to me. Brackets are posted on BBI website home page - good job by Richard and others. I agree with Kirk, too much stuff for too few folks and can be overwhelming. Looks like all is set. Now if the weather will just cooperate . . .

Glad it makes sense to Texdad, I am still confused, however, I think the issue for our team was the person in charge of our league didn't relay the AABC opportunities. I hate the fact that our team missed out on the chance to play in one of these tournaments.

I stand corrected, brackets are posted on BBI website. I was trying to defend Richard and BBI, and why they didn't have to post on BBI website.

I too have been trying to understand the AABC organization. Are all registered AABC teams eligible for the 'state' tournament? At one time, I thought that the state tournament was only for league champions.

Depending on how many teams are in the league a league can have quite a few state playoff candidates. Most years BBI sends 4-7 teams per age bracket to a state tournament. I think you get 1 state bid for every 4 teams in your league. Or something close to that.

Our guys (Lowry Mustangs) just can't seem to finish at times. Today's was a tough loss -- leading 4-2 in the 7th. Our pitcher threw a good game today.

This young team has lost 3 one-run games to another good 16 yr old team (Sharp Mustangs) -- all by the score of 4-3 in the bottom of the 7th -- in addition to a blowout (don't ask). Plus a close game to this same Patriots group, last week at the Regional qualifier, and one-run games to the 16 yo McKinney Mavericks and Marshals. I hope the adversity makes our kids tougher -- but it gets old!

Our coaches could win a coin flip on occasion! (they know I'm kidding)

All I know is that they sure carry themselves well and play well and will be men among boys if they all return and play 16s again. I hear that comment from lots of parents who have seen them play. Pass that along to the boys.

Wortham Mustangs vs Dallas Patriots Blue

Looks like the Greenhill tourney has 4 teams remaining....the Mustangs(Lowry) and the Dallas Tigers (15) have one loss each -- both to the Patriots BLUE in extra innings. The unbeaten teams are playing now -- Patriots BLUE versus Mustangs (Wortham).

Games at 3:00 and 5:00 are TBD -- three teams will have one loss and one will be unbeaten. The Patriots will have played all 3 teams, whereas the Lowry Mustangs and the Hainsfuther Tigers have yet to play each other OR the Wortham Mustangs. I suspect the two 15 yo teams will play at 3:00 to avoid a back-to-back schedule for the Pats or Stangs -- but....they will have to face each other twice in the same day -- in an elimination game.

It will be down to 2 or 3 teams after tonight.

Mustangs Lowry- 6

Patriots Blue- 5

Mustangs Lowry will play 10:00 AM on Saturday vs. Mustangs Wortham. If Tigers beat M. Wortham, 5 PM today, then they will get a bye to the championship game at 12 PM tomorrow. If M. Wortham win, Mustangs Lowry will have to double dip M. Wortham.

Mustangs-Lowry swept Mustangs-Wortham to win State tournament over at Greenhill.

DBAT 16's won the MM "Super 8" State Tournament at Keller by defeating the Dallas Curve 15-5.

The 4 teams going to regionals from the North Texas division of AABC are:

Dallas Tigers- won the regional qualifier
Dallas Dodgers- won the state tourny in McKiiney
Dbat- won state tourny in Keller
Mustangs- Lowry- won state tourny at Greenhill. Lowry is a pure 15 year old team.

Anyone have any word when the brackets will come out. Heard games were cancelled yesterday and being played today. The rains in Houston could make this week very interesting.

Still no word on MM Regional Brackets? I saw where D-Bat 16's play Houston Raiders on Wednesday @ 2:00pm.....but that's all I can get. So far.
