Every year about this time, I post a thread reminding readers that this website is a "hobby site" Meaning, that most of the money that it takes to run this site, i.e. bandwidth, comes out of the owners pocket.

From experience, I know that it isn't cheap in time or money running a popular site, and it takes donations from people like you and me to keep the site running.

PLEASE, take the time and send Julie a donation. PLEASE send her an email thanking her for her time and effort keeping this a HOBBY site, and not a pay site.

This site could easily become a pay site, or worse yet, full of banner ads. We need to show our gratitude during this holiday season and send her a paypal donation (only takes a couple of seconds to complete if you have a Paypal account), or if you don't have Paypal, send her a Christmas card with a check in it.

I usually send $40. Less than a dollar a week. I think this site is worth far more than that.

I challenge you to match my donation.

Thank you all so much, your support is SO helpful, both verbal and financial!

Of course I want to take this opportunity to thank the many people who do so much to make this site wonderful: Our founder Bob who created such a great resource and a very special community, and all the members who give so freely of their time, experience and knowledge to help other parents and players. All of you truly make this the "World Famous" High School Baseball Web!

THANK YOU for everything. i started surfing this site about a year before i joined ,the old timers on this site have helped so many people. a whole lot more than just the posters,i waited to joine because they scared the heck out of me .lol. i check this site often and find something everyday that i didn't know.this is a must for baseball junkies.thanks again

THANK YOU
Thank you Julie. This site could be called "THE ULTIMATE GUIDE for Parents of athletic children" I know it's predominatly a HS baseball site, but it is so much more than that. I learn something new everytime I visit. Somethings I learn are about HS baseball and some are about raising kids and life in general. Being able to be a part of so many peoples lifes that have already been there done that is very comforting.

HAPPY HOLLIDAYS

Thanks Julie for carrying on the tradition! Bob Howdeshell started the HSBBW many years ago because there was no place he could turn for information about making the college team. He gathered a few meager bits of information and spent his time and his money to design a website so other parents could share what he had found. Little did he know that there were thousands just like him with other tidbits of information. Bob asked for their help compiling that information together so all could share ... and the High School baseball Web was born. When I started looking on the internet for something that could help my son make the high school team I stumbled on the HSBBW. All the posters that had already found the site helped me so I could help my son. I never thought about the time and money Bob was spending to help. I was so focused on my son’s baseball that I never took the time to realize why and how things were happening. After four years of high school, three years of college, and one year of professional baseball I can now look back and see how it all happened. I would like to thank the doctor, the lawyer, the scout, the coach, the showcase director, the housewife, the mom, the dad, the blue chip player and the JV player on the bench. Thanks to all of you .. things somehow came together and made some sense.

You just helped me make the choice of my wife's Christmas gift.

Enamel coated moose dropping - on a nice gold band. Do you think it will look like a diamond?

LOL

Dear ItsintheGame:

Only because I am in a festive mood, and see that you need oodles of help.

Yes, your wife will think it is a diamond, but you will need to do some advance work. Prepare the below Diamond Jim drink, have her consume copiousness quantities of it. Present her with the watch band and she will believe anything you say. One caveat though, bear in mind that she must misplace the watch band prior to her sobering up.

Diamond Jim

This shooter is fruity and goes down almost too easily.
INGREDIENTS:

1 oz. Rum
1/2 oz. Amaretto
Splash of Orange juice
Splash of Cranberry juice
Splash of Pineapple juice
Splash of Sour mix
PREPARATION:

Shake over ice. Strain into a chilled cocktail, pony or shot glass. But in this case, a large pail.

KellerDad, thank you for undertaking this effort. Completely agree that yours is the most important post of any year. Julie has really been amazing in quickly and smoothly transitioning the HSBBW and assuming the guiding role...and we get to have all the fun. walk Hope everyone will step up and remember that the expenses for site operation are kind of like the kids cell phone Mad ...Julie gets a usage charge every month. If anyone wants to help during the year, I am guessing the help will be most appreciated. Wink
.

Okay...This "Last Week of the Year to Make Contributions" Guy has done his "thing"...and hopes that other members of the "Last Week of the Year to Make Contributions" Club will do so, as well.

Over and above that...many, many thanks, Julie; for continuing to make this extraordinary resource available to players and their families!!
