Sorry it took so long to respond. Had a long night last night, my 22 year old called from Virginia, she went into labor and had a little baby girl. 3 lbs 8 oz, a little early, but she's a fighter, just like her momma.

So, I hand out cyber cigars to all my buddies here. I'm way too young to be a grandpa, and have decided that my Grandaughter Madison is going to call me Doug. Shannon has decided on G.G., something about being 37 and being called Grandma doesn't appeal to her. Plus, if you have ever seen my wife, she's way too hot to be called Granny.

But, on the topic at hand. Yes, PD, I do collect a pay check far exceeding my ability or my effort. My boss has known this for 14 years. I just can't get him to fire me. Dangit.

Many congratulations on the granddaughter. We will be remembering her & your daughter in our prayers.

A neighbor had premie twins that size and they are doing great now (~six months old).

Does granpa teach softball?

I actually coached my eldest's daughters fast pitch softball team until she was 12.

She was also a premie, 2lbs, 2oz, so she was a high risk mom to begin with.

Shannon is off looking for a pink softball outfit as we speak.

Congrats Doug! Add me and my family to your prayer list. My 3 1/2 year old twins are in perfect health today and they were 1 lb. 15 oz and 1 lb. 11 oz. when they were born. It was truly amazing to see them get bigger right before our eyes.

And since we are on babies, looks like my boy will be here tomorrow!!

No, he's not over rated, but we are very over joyed he's coming into the world!!!

A friend of mine in Memphis has developed a womb ball league for those who just can't wait to get their kid started.

Womb ball!!! If they had that before I was born, I cudda been a contenda. I imagine PG and BA will get involved soon -- WWWBA -- WorldWombWoodBatAssociation -- double-elimination tourney at Graceland to see who to recognize as the top unborns.

Baseball pants is one stress and shorts/tans/bleacherbutts are another stress that some of us have to deal with.

Took her off the ventilator yesterday. They say by Thanksgiving they will take the feeding tube out and start bottle feeding her.
