Obviously not the best way to post a photo, but it's there none the less...the photo is pretty "grainy" as I cropped down to the critical part...the most obvious movement is in the ball and if you look at it closely, you'll see where it moved during the exposure...
So the bat and the ball are moving the fastest? That is why they look different?

Both the bat and the ball are moving fast enough that the movement can't be "stopped" with the shutter speed that I used in taking that photo...
Obviously, in swinging the bat, the player's arms, hands and body are also moving, but the shutter speed was sufficient to effectively "freeze" their movement...
