I talked to a couple of dads who had kids that did PSL last year....lots of travel, not many scouts, in short-a disappointment. Both said they would be doing MSL this fall.

MSL isn't perfect either. There are a lot of scouts out there, but too many games/innings going on at once to get noticed. The schools you are interested in have to be looking specifically for you. POs are 2 innings. It's a long day if you get the mid to late innings and the scouts are all long gone by that time. Again, they have to be looking specifically for you and I think you have to work the coach to get early innings. The positive side is once you get your 2 in, you can take off.

'Price per pitch' is the wrong mentality. PO's are getting 2 and sometimes 3 innings every Sunday to showcase them in front of scouts. That PO only needs to show well once in many cases for that entire amount of money to be paid off or worth it. Little Johnny isn't in a showcase league for some supposed present game to game or even pitch to pitch value but for the future value.

You are definitely right that nothing is perfect and the MSL has some kinks (though it has more right than any of the other scout leagues) but this isn't one of them.

All the scouts aren't long gone by the mid to late innings - sure, maybe some of the D1's are but the teams do a good job with the rotations every week.

Most complaints with the MSL are just going to be nitpicky, it is clearly the best scout league in the metroplex.

Its not even close. Also heard the new twist to the MSL is the Tigers, Frozen Ropes, Blacksox, and many more have joined the MSL. All those organizations had players in it last year so I am not sure what that means. The Letter I got had Hernandez and Florance on it. So what you will get is the MSL will be a combination of about 20 teams from all over and the PSL will be a combination of about 2.

According to this video the MSL has players from everywhere and a lot of team involved. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...t=PLA56187E255FB9FD9
Appears some orgs view MSL as a vehicle for Dbat to recruit their talent. Have heard varied opinions on whether this is true or not. To me if it pits my son (baseball-only)up against other high level talent during a time of the year when most the areas focus is on football then it can't be all bad.?..but I respect the baseball experts opinions.
