At Cooperstown a few years back, my son was hung out to dry on a missed suicide squeeze attempt. He employed a similar leap with more of a sideways/cartwheel approach and was safe. But no. He was called out for sliding headfirst! Upsetting, but we won the game.

I wouldn't recommend that maneuver for fear of injury but it was one heck of a play.

Well that's one I haven't seen before. I've seen guys try to leap over the catcher, but never clear him so cleanly and land right on the plate.
